Growing older. . .

I guess I ahve to change my profile now. Since my last post, I have turned 38 and am having medical problems. Again. I am going to have a MRI tomorrow. I had a really rough evening today. My dad came and cut my grass for me. I was actually looking in the phone book to hire some one to cut it. My poor back yard had not been cut since the end of June. It looked like a jungle out there. My poor house has been so neglected. I have barely managed to make it throgh work during the day.

Oh well. Se la vi! Holla!

Happy Thursday before the 4th of July!

I am so ready for the long weekend!! I do not have a whole lot planned. I am just going to rest and chill. I am glad that Christopher is back. He really was not gone just spending the week with my dad. He is off to dinner and a movie with a buddy of his from school and I am single mama again tonight. I am not going to complain. He is really starting to grow up.

I started having trouble with my computer or the last few weeks. I have got to figure out what is going on so I can use it when I want to and when it decides to work. Oh well gripe session over. Guess I will finish watching this Michael Jackson documentary and take my chair outside and chill.

HOLLA!!!!

A whole month has gone by!!!

Where did the time go? Christopher's birthday was on the 17th. He graduated from Wolf scout to a Bear scout. He made it through the second grade. He finished with an "A" average for the year but got a "B" in Reading in the 4th quarter. He was not doing his personal best and I have really laid in on him about that. We even went camping. TWICE~!

I will have to post some pictures from the last month.

It has been a long while

I know it has been a while since I published a post. It has been a very rough few weeks. That is about all I can say about it right now. Hopefully it will settle down soon.

It has been a while. . .

I know it has been a while since I have been out here but boy have I been busy. I have been extreamly tired the last few days. I have had to stay up late for various reasons the past few nights and it was really starting to catch up with me. I am not going to stay out here long because I still have a show to prep for. Busy, busy. But never too busy to enjoy the flowers. . .

Have a wonderful week!!!

Happy Easter!

What a beautiful day in South Carolina. We had a annual easter egg hunt. Here are some pictures from the hunt. The kids had a blast!

Little Monsters!

Yes, I had all of the kids sleep over last night. They actually slept through the night. I got up long before they did. We watched a movie and they went to sleep around 11:30. They got up around 8. Right now they are just milling around. I will take them home soon because I have another busy Sunday.

Magnolia Plantation

<

Christopher and I went to Magnolia Planation for Scout day on Saturday. They had a gardens, zoo and tours of the property. I have not been to Magnolia Plantation in probably 30 years. It was actually very relaxing. You could actually walk around with some of the animals and pet them. There was a sheep who kept taking everybody's food. I wanted to walk through the garden but Christopher wanted to play in the playground. We had already been there for over three hours so. . .

There you have it Christopher climing and old oak tree at the playground. Here are some other pictures that I took while out there. I will have to plan to do that again.

Is Wednesday over yet?!

I know that I should not wish the days away but wow has it been a trying week. I guess that what happens after a four day weekend.

I made Christopher an appointment to go to the doctor to have a planters wart removed. He is going on Monday and will stay with my mom and dad until Thursday and he will have to go all day camp on Friday (I have to work). This is one time that I can truly say I am not looking forward to this appointment. Christopher is such a baby when he is hurting.

We have a busy weekend ahead and hopefully I will remember to take the camera to Magnolia Plantation on Saturday. I want to try and go to the Flowertown Festival this weekend too but there are too many events this weekend to even try and navigate it all. Oh well, such is life.

Until later. . .

What a Sunday!

I did not get a chance to do a post on Sunday but it was an incredible day. The weather was absolutely beautiful. I convinced Amanda and Caitlyn to go on a bike ride down a path that runs behind our neighborhood and we had a blast (We dragged Christopher along too)! I wish that I had taken the camera to take some pictures. Despite the awful weather Thursday, Friday and Saturday, that one day just seemed to make it all right.

It is all good!

It's official!!

The camping trip scheduled for this weekend has been cancelled due to the weather. It is supposed to start raining today and continue to rain until Sunday. Not only is it going to rain, they are also calling for severe thunderstorms and hail. The trip has been rescheduled until May 29th. BUMMER.

I was looking forward to camping this weekend. But safety first. Happy Friday!

Did I really take days off?!!!!

I do not take very many personal days (mental health days), but I did today. I do not get very many days alone with my own thoughts. I have a million things to do today and tomorrow. I will probably get only half of them done but it is okay.

I am getting ready to go and get my hair done. I just need my hair relaxed again. I will probably just get a wrap since I will be in the woods with the boys this weekend (I hope).

The child is at school and now I start my mad dash around town trying to get some things done. Ciao!

Is our trip in trouble?

After weeks and weeks of preparation, it appears that our camping trip may get cancelled. It is supposed to start raining tonight and (may turn into thurderstorms) continue to rain until Sunday. According to the Cub Scout manual, it is not wise to camp by the lake in a tent during a thunderstorm. Final decision will be made Thursday evening.

I am very sad because I have been looking forward to this trip since January. :(

Manic Monday!

Long story short. It has been a crazy day. Worked all day, then went to a memorial service or a good friends mother (I could not get off to attend the funeral tomorrow), then had to show my sister how to navigate downtown North Charleston. UGH! That means I did not get home until after nine. I missed most of "Dancing with the Stars". :(

I will be okay. Tomorrow is another day.

Crazy Weekend!

It was a wild and crazy weekend. But I had a good time. Saturday I went to a baby shower for a friend of mine. It was the first time that I have ever been to a couple's baby shower. It was really and all day affair but I had a sitter on the clock so I could only stay for a few hours. They grilled hamburgers and hotdogs and the cake was adorable. (I forgot to take my camera). She is supposed to email me pictures and I will try to post a picture of the cake.

After the shower, I took Christopher for a late afternoon fishing expedition out at Lake Moultrie. Of course we did not catch anything but we still had a good time.(That is until sunset and it got really cold. . . BRRRRRR.!)

Today we went to the Charleston Sportsman Classic. It was alright but the article made it appear more interesting that it really was. The only things I found interesting was the Bass Fishing 101. It was 30 minutes but the guy really brought some interesting facts about fishing that really made sense to me. Once you actually see different lures being used and actually see how they work. He almost caught two bass but they got away.

It was a beautiful day in South Carolina today. It is a little chilly in the shade though.

Lastly, I got to see Heather and Latte this weekend. Latte has gotten so big! Even though we only saw each other for a short time, it is great seeing you and knowing that you are doing well.

Time to prepare for the big Cub Scout trip this weekend. Busy. Busy.

St. Patty's Day Message

Wow. Did not realize it had been that long since I posted anything. It has been crazy the last week. I am actually feeling better. I can not say that I am sleeping better but I have good nights and bad nights. I have had a lot of things going on and I have really gotten out of my routine.

Mother is feeling better. They still have no idea why she got so sick.

Christopher has one more achievement to complete his wolf badge in Cub Scouts. We are going camping with the Pack next weekend and will get a number of electives completed so he can earn a silver arrow (we may actually get two silver arrows). Once he starts playing baseball he will get his baseball belt loop.

I so do not watch television but I am now a "Dancing with the Stars" addict. I just need to turn it off and go to bed. But I want to know who is getting eliminated.

Good Night.

Sleepless

Not had much good sleep the last few weeks. It is really starting to show. I keep waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to get back to sleep. Here it is a Saturday morning and I have been awake since 4:30 am. I have not been going to bed early, no naps, nothing.

I am going to take Christopher out to the baseball field today and teach him how to catch. I will leave the batting up to the baseball coach. I need to get him to where he is not afraid of the ball. The weather is supposed to be nice today so it should be a good day.

Break time. . .

No snow. :( But I was very happy when Cub Scouts was cancelled for tonight. Ater I talked to the den leader, I took a shower put and put on pajamas and have been in the bed ever since. After my crazy week last week, I need a night off. Looking forward to thomorrow night's closing celebration for basketball. Kind of sad that the season is over. But I need a break.

Here is to my break and watching the final episode of "The Bachelor".

Crazy Weather Sunday

Can you believe that I am waking up the actual thunderstorms and the threat of a tornados?! To top it all off it is supposed to SNOW tonight into tomorrow. Of course I do not believe it. We will just have to wait and see.

Very busy Saturday

WOW! Am I glad this day is over. Christopher and I started the day with his final basketball game :(. . . The game ended in a tie but the kids had lots of fun and I am looking forward to the closing ceremony next Tuesday.

After basketball, we went to my mother house to help her out for a few hours. My mother has been ill for the last week and they are not sure what is wrong with her. She spent most of last Thursday in the emergency room having much difficulty breathing. They checked her from head to toe and can not find anything wrong with her. They know that something is not right because she still has difficulty breathing. With the varying temperature changes, she has been confined to the indoors and she does not like it at all.

Then it is on to baseball evaluations. (Went a lot smoother than I thought). All they had to do was a two minute drill and they were dismissed. Should hear something next week on what team he will be playing for. Practices start in two weeks and the season begins right after Easter.

Then I came home for a much needed nap and what happens?!!! There is more a than an abundance of noise going on at the Show Zone. All I heard for two hours was the revving of engines. More revving. More revving. MORE REVVING. I nearly lost my mind. AHHHH!

Finally the day ends with the annual Blue and Gold Banquet with Cub Scouts. The food was awesome!! The program was awesome as well. The boys had a wonderful time. I am still exhausted. Now it is 10 pm and I think that it is time for me to call it a night and say good night.

What is going on!

What has happened to the NFL? Teams are letting good players go left and right. I am not a coach but what is the reasoning behind all of the shuffle. I wonder if all of this shuffle in the off season will hurt the NFL come the 09 season. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Wild Wednesday continues. . .

Internet connection tonight is not stable. I will continue another time.

My crazy week continues . . .

WOW!!! What a day! I am so glad that Wednesday is over.

Another busy week. . .

Christopher's school had a winter concert that featured the 2nd graders tonight. It was pretty good.

I actually got bamboozled by a 7 year old. Apparently there was a contest among the 2nd graders to see which class had the most participants in the program. Christopher's class tied with another class for the most participants. The winning classes had 14 participants each. I am sure when I go to pick up Christopher tomorrow afternoon he will tell me all about what their surprise was for winning.

I am so ready for spring!!!! :) Good Night.

Lazy Sunday

This is another lazy Sunday. I am very proud of myself though. I actually got all of the laundry done on Saturday. I did not have to spend the entire day Sunday trying to catch up on stuff that I could not get done on Saturday. Now it is time to maintain. Can my house actually stay clean with a destructive 7 year old who has a no care attitude when it comes to our home. I try to keep him in check but he just can not keep it on track. Multi-tasking is not his strong suite. Single tasking is becoming a nightmare.

I like being busy; however, I am grateful for this lazy Sunday.

I am going to give it a shot. . .

I am going to try blogging. I have no idea what to do. I am going to start with 10 things about myself:

1. I am a single mom of a seven year old son, Christopher.
2. I went camping for the first time ever with Christopher in Cub Scouts.
3. I was 35 years old the first time I went fishing.
4. I had a root canal today and I HATE having toothaches!
5. I have a ten-year old calico cat named Callie.
6. I do not like talking about myself.
7. I am a Staff Accountant.
8. I am an independent consultant for Partylite candles.
9. I do not watch much television but I watch way too many old movies.
10. I love the South but hate cold weather.
